Are the new rs2 different sounding from the vintage?

I am considering buying a pair of rs2's in the future and was wondering has the new design changed the sound of these cans? I suppose some people might think so, but is this placebo effect or for real.

What, new design? Woot? No!

The wooden parts of the RS series are something Gradoish. If they change the looks.. wonder what happens.

Wont "let you"? lol omg

You can change the pads so it wont be discusting, or wash them.
Used is sometimes a really good deal. I got a set of MB Quart 55X cheap,...i forget, like no more than $30us , and i like them, so it was a great buy.

Some are in great condition and she would never know anyway.

I don't want to argue with her but this is what I hear from her "used are so skeevy. How could you wear something someone else has used". She is being a real pain in the @@**@.I have gone over this time and time again with her.She is ruining this high fideltiy thing for me. Probably on purpose.

I doubt John would make a change which would change the sound of a winning setup like the RS1 & RS2. While I suppose some will "hear a difference" regardless, I would be rather skeptical.

I am still working on the buy rs2 thing. It is just the used ones won't fly.

For the life of me, I can't remember where I read it...and it may have been a comparison between the old RS1s and new RS1s, but I THOUGHT I read that the newer version actually sounds a little smoother but has ever so slightly less punch. But that the differences were negligible and it basically came down to looks over sound

I have a year or so before I try to buy some anyway. I will just have to wait. Maybe I can make it to a meet and hear some for myself. That is a possibility.
I don't want to dish out 500 clams and then find out I don't like them.Returning stuff is always awkward.

A year or so? You'll never make it that long
