As stated on the thread, i would like to know if anyone can help me with this question. I'm not talking about the sound being balanced, but rather the connections. 
Lets say i order a cable from ALO for hifiman with the connectors for the headphones and a 4 pin xor termination. (this is too pricey, so i think i'll be making my own) and then connect it to a balanced system like the Gungnir and Mjolnir. It would probably be overkill amplification, but would it work without any rewiring inside of the headphone? Thats my question. 
On a side not, anyone mind showing me where to begin to start making my own headphone cables? I have a decent handle on soldering and electronics, but I'm no expert and don't know where to start.

You only need the replacement cable.

Like Currawong said, they are balanced and you only need a balanced cable. Maybe ask on the DIY cable thread? They will probably be of more help.
