I'm asking this 'cause pleather doesn't last very long. Well, at least the last cans I had w/ pleather pads didn't last long. So I'm thinking maybe I can put the nicer none pleather pads on the A900 I have. Will the W100 or W2002 pads fit on the A900? Or am I stuck w/ A1000? And what is the W100, W2002, and A1000 pads made out of anyway?

I know from some other thread that the W2002 pads would fit the other AT woodies just fine. The W100 pads are of synthetic material while the W2002 is out of real leather. But since the search function is down right now and with my limited experinces and knowledge I really can't offer much of a reply.

The A1000 pads will fit on the A900, but the ear-fit is different. The hole for the ears is smaller on the A1000 pads. That (and the A900 pad of course) are all that will fit on the A-series.

i have W100 with W2002 pads, W100's pads sure looks like artifical leather. W2002's look and feel much much better then W100s.
i believe i heard W2002s pads were made out of lamb skin... someone correct me if im wrong

The A1000 pads are artificial leather (Clarino) and feel better on the skin and are more durable than the HP-A900. Not sure about sonics... I suppose I'll have to try ordering a set for my D1000 (which also uses the HP-A900).

The R10 is the only headphone I know of with lambskin pads.

L3000=lambskin
W2002=lambskin
W1000=Clarino (synthetic leather)
A1000=Clarino (synthetic leather)
W100=synthetic leather w/ collagen
A900, A500=pleather

lambskin pads and clarino pads are shaped to fit around your ears, while pleather pads are just bulky pads. all should be interchangable.

All are not interchangeable. I speak as an ex-owner of the ATH-W2002/W1000/A1000/A900 at the same time. There is a difference in the lip diameter between the A chassis and the W chassis.

The W2002/W1000 are interchangeable between each other. The A1K/900/700/500 (and the D) are interchangeable between each other.
