Recently something came to my attention.  The words LEFT and RIGHT on my pair are not in the sort-of cursive writing in all the MS400 pictures I've seen.  They are in a straight (the best way I could describe it) font.  Also the case that came with mine opens vertically like the MS300's does, not horizontally like I've seen in many pictures.

There's a thread with pictures to know what I am talking about when I say cursive writing and the way the case opens.
 
I would take pictures but I don't have a camera and the only pictures I've taken are these that don't show what I am talking about

I bought them off amazon so I don't think they are fake, but why have I never seen pictures of my model?

the side angle picture of your ms400 doesnt show the letting well enough for me to judge
 
the odds of it being fake are remote, but still possible.  I Would contact the seller immediately or even send pictures to phiaton and ask them what the deal with them is.

Yeah sorry I don't have any better pictures than that(those are old) but I will borrow a camera from a friend and take better pictures.  I also sent an email to Phiaton.  I was hoping someone on here had the same thing as me but maybe I have to wait longer for a post.

Just shine a light (lamp, flashlight, whatever) on the right or left tag you're trying to photograph. I mean, have the light source a decent distance away, but enough so that when you take the pic, it'll show up. That should work even with a crappy cell phone camera if you've one handy.

I bought mine from Amazon recently (a month agoish) and they too have straight lettering.

Did you get them direct from Amazon or through a Marketplace seller? It's possible Phiaton did do some minor changes, but we'll wait to hear back from 3six5 to conclude on that one.

No, from Phiaton.
 
Even the mesh on the bass holes is the same as what has been described/pictured in all of the reviews I've read.

Which clearly have straight lettering, so I guess they are not fake.  I just have the second generation.
