Just to get some info out of the way, my Darkvoice 3322 amp is burned in, purchased almost a year ago and I decided to buy some new tubes since one of my Chinese tubes started to hum.
I recently purchased some new tubes (Svetlana 6S19-P (NOS) // GE 6AK5w (used) ) for my Darkvoice 3322 amp and I was A/B'ing the sound coming through my amp versus the sound coming through my soundcard (HT Omega Claro Halo). I was using my Ultrasones Pro-900 and when I plugged them into my amp, the sound was recessed and was not engaging. My amp volume is set at 10 o'clock and I never had to go past 9 o'clock with my old Chinese tubes. On the flip side, the sound coming through my soundcard is the exact opposite. Forward presentation, hard hitting bass, etc etc. So I'm wondering if I have a bad pair of Svetlana tubes? Dying amp? Any help would be nice.
