Arcam rHead Class-A Analogue Headphone Amplifier

The resistance in my unit is uniform throughout the journey.

My unit too has a uniform resistance throughout the range of motion, without any bump. If I represent it in a graph, it might look like a step curve. There is a threshold of force for it to move, but then the force is fixed once it starts moving. It is a pity that they discontinued this. I absolutely love the look and feel of this product. The Topping A50 looks like a promising alternative, but I just love the simplicity of this.

Thanks for information guys. Looks like I will be returning this particular rHead unit for a replacement or refund.

Topping have recently released their A90 headphone amplifier, by the way.

The Arcam rHead still survives, but with the name AKG K1500.

Just bought the AKG k1500 (rhead clone) amp to compare to my Ifi zen can signature. My first impression is that the k1500 sounds more natural than the Zen. And the soundstage is quite good. Both amps are designed and finished really well. Both are connected to the ZEN DAC Signature

The k1500 has a little glare in the highs but nowhere to the extent of irritation as on the Zen can signature. The Zen while has no glare in the mids and highs, it sounds very stiff, rough and upfront. Initially I thought the Zen has more detail and impact than the k1500 but after prolonged listening I changed my mind. The K1500 sounds a little far away but much more nuanced in every voices and notes. Both amps are better and subtle than all Schiit amps I have heard. And the k1500 is the better one out of the 2 British amps. It has a familiarly easy and real sound that my ears appreciate the most. Maybe some will like the modern and exciting sound from Ifi's little beautiful amp (I love my Zen's design and color). Just note that no above amps sound harsh and compressed and lacked-of-fine details like Schiit amps.
Sorry for my English and let's enjoy music.

I'm curious which Schiit have you listened to?

Actually the power supply can change the sound of the rHead…I changed the standard power supply with a linear power supply Farad Super3.
The benefits of this upgrade is a black background, deeper bass, wider soundstage.

Hello,

Does anybody know the direction of fuse? Does it slow blow or fast blow?

I wish to change it.
