looks like they'll really dent the headbands though.

I didn't notice any dents on the headphones and I have been using it for about a month. I guess it would depend on the headphone.

I've found that my head is the most abusive holder for my headphones, and I'm the careful type. I wouldn't worry about any small damage a stand might do.
