Apogee has announced their next mac only soundcard, the Apogee ONE. Built in microphone, xlr and 1/4" inputs (one of each), and 1/8" headphone/line out, with the big honkin' knob. Black this time, and much smaller.

I'm interested in hearing it.

Oh, and it's just $250.

Looks like a pared-down version of the Duet. If it has the Duet's DAC and headphone amp, without the software and all the I/O, it's a heck of a bargain at $250.

Where have you been Tim? Have not seen you post in a long time, welcome back.

Oh, I've been around...listening to speakers of all things! I still put in plenty of headphone time, though. What are you up to on the amp/dac fronts these days?

Looks very interesting, could be quite the bargain DAC.

Immediate differences besides the integrated Mic.

USB - probably a good idea since not all macs have firewire now.

Non-standard breakout cable connector ?

I still prefer my Duet as a DAC, and think the headphone out is a bit neutral for my liking.
