Is this possible? I just realized that the Apogee does have line level control. I know some people use the DAC1 straight to the AKG K1000's, would same principle apply to the MiniDAC as well?

While the Benchmark DAC1's headphone jack is capable of driving the K1000's to loud levels, the Apogee Mini-DAC's is not. The Apogee would make a good, smooth redbook source for the AKG's, using an amp though (I've owned both, btw).

Btw, the Apogee's headphone-out does a great job driving the Qualia 010's. Great combo, imo.

Have both, used both (Q and Apogee). Looking for something for my K1K's. Ahh, thanks, I wasn't sure if the line level outputs could really drive the K1K.
