Instead of spending a good $70 on the 4 way connectors and their plugs, can i just use a 4 pole speakon socket such as this, Neutrik - Audio - Chassis Connectors - NL4MP-ST ? I dont see the problem if i only do the connecting when the power supply is off

(to be used between s22 and b22)

the powercon is more for mains ac power if i am correct, and it is only 3 poles and i do really need 4.

I don't see why not, they're rated for continuous 30A, 250VDC.

I used the Powercon connectors for my Sigma22 to Beta22 connection. I used a four conductor cable but just tied two of the conductors together at the connectors for ground.

Yes, make sure power is off before disconnecting/reconnecting the DC to the amp. I blew my Sigma22 out once doing it with the power live.

It should not matter of the order of the make and break, the power supply is going to be off when connecting / disconnecting.

Thanks for the info kklee, i should find some kind of protection to avoid this happening.

I used these with my B22 and they are doing job just fine. Well made connectors and doesn't cost an arm.
