Well, count me in on a dial-up user who got nailed. I just got my new laptop back from Ashton Digital for repairs and within a couple of days I got infected. Sure was frustrating to get it fixed using my incredibly slow dial-up account, but so far I haven't had a problem since installing Microsoft's patch.

Thanks for the Symantec link for the fix xtreme4099. After I finish downloading the latest virus definitions, which will take almost 1/2 to download 3MB worth, it's time for the Symantec fix.

Also, BIG thanks for vwap for posting about this here. Saved me tons of extra time and frustration.

The worm's fairly simple to remove. It apparently only adds one entry to the registry.

Yep, that's all the Symantec checker found: one entry. Thank God, a few more and my computer would have out of commission for a while.
