Just wondering if anyone has tried the Audio-GD integrated amps with ACSS (cast) and Ref5/7/One in balanced mode, or used a Krell CAST amp with Audio-gd source?

Also, out of curiosity what speakers were you using as well.

Thanks!

When I had mine in house (FBI-500) I had it mated (briefly) to the CD7/RE1 using my DIY ACSS cables. Speakers used were a pair of ET LFT-VIIIb's (Eminent Technology) on Sound Anchor stands wired up with Nordost Blue Heaven II speaker cables. The amp was freshly rebuilt and biased (DIY job ,mid April) so I did not have a lot of time to burn it in before giving it to my best friend for his BD (I gave him a DAC and a set of floor standing speakers/cables etc to go with it). It sounded terrific with my system (part of it) but was in serious need of run in. I have been over a number of times to my friends place to watch Hockey, play tunes etc and the amp is now starting to loosen up considerably. He's thrilled with it to say the least (so is his wife). I figure it;'ll need another 500 hours or so to sound it's best ( I did rewire the inputs and outputs with better quality hook up wire , solid silver, copper magnet wire hybrid) It's a very powerful amp no doubt about that...it doubles it's power when you drop the impedance and it can safely run a 2 ohm load all day long (good for those folks with Apogee Ribbons, Martin Logans and the like). Gobs of current on tap.

A bloody bargain considering it's features and build quality. It's a true dual mono design (and 4 channel balanced of course) and it weighs a bloody ton (about 75 lbs roughly).

IMHO you'll find nothing better in it's price range and an argument could be made at 4X it's price. I plan on getting myself a set of C1 Masters sometime this year.

Peete.
