I had a 2nd gen 10gb. I used it regularly for 2 years until it got stolen. I had to replace the battery in it after 18 months, but that cost $40 and took 10 minutes.

My sister is still running a 2G 20Gb, it's still got really good battery life (much better than my 4G)...

I finally managed to win an auction for a 1st gen iPod!!!! I've been trying/losing for about two weeks now, I'm genuinely not good at auctioning!!! I'm also ordering a ipod cleaning kit for this and my current ipod u2. Cant wait to hear it!!!
Can u guys give me some advise on what kind of software I should use to have it work on pc? I understand that the earlier ipods were mac only.
