For those who can't wait, try Titan Quest, it's an almost 1:1 copy of Diablo II, great game.

I feel like I am going to be let down too. I think its my fault for loving the hell out of D2 though. I'm not sure anything can ever replace it.

This being said, I am still excited for D3.

The team working on Diablo 3 has no one who worked on D1/D2, they all left years ago to form their own companies and released a few games since(hellgate: london). Diablo 3 isn't being made by those who made the first two sadly, so i hope it lives up to expectations.

Torchlight is the Diablo like game that some of the co-designers of D1/D2 released this past October. It's hella fun, but short really reminded me of what diablo 3 should be like.

Oh and a link to the game's site, i think it's like $19.99 now.

Eh, I've looked at Torchlight, but it isn't multiplayer which is why I didn't get. It does worry me that the original creators are not working on D3 though.

This also worries me. Just like Konami handed Silent Hill over to the US team which also never worked on a silent hill series in their lives, and look what happens, they completely botched that game. All in all, i do think Blizzard is a more reputable company and must have at least a staff that somewhat knows what they're doing. The previews look impressive to me so we'll all have to wait and see.
