I was working on an order from Markertek.com and I noticed that Belden also produces a Star Quad cable like Canare. I was wondering if anyone has ever used both and had a chance to compare the two.The Belden cable is .48 per foot and Canare is .36 per foot.Here's some specs:

Belden 1192A Star Quad:

Quote:

Non-Paired- Microphone and Musical Instrument Cable

* Number of Conductors: 4
* Total Number of Conductors: 4
* AWG: 24
* Stranding: 42x40
* Conductor Material: SBC - Soft Bare Copper
* Insulation Material: PE - Polyethylene
* Outer Shield Material: TC - Tinned Copper
* Outer Jacket Material: PVC - Polyvinyl Chloride
* Plenum (Y/N): N
* Applications: Microphone and Musical Instrument Cables
* Four Conductor Star Quad Low Impedance

I know Canare Star Quad has 21 AWG wire but the rest of the specs look similar. I was wondering if anyone has ever had the chance to compare the 2 cables and could remark on how they sound compared to each other.

Not sure but I can say that Canare Starquad is a very nice cable, especially over longer runs.

I have noticed a difference between mogami and canare/belden, but canare and belden are the same in my mind...not counting the thinner version of the canare...

I prefer Mogami Neglex 2534 Quad Cable over the Canare for Interconnects. To my ears, it sounds better and it is much easier to work with.
