Gotta try that. Locally I can get both the Appleton Reserve, and 12 Year Extra. Only a small price difference (Reserve $28CDN, 12 Year $33CDN), so I'll probably jump for the 12 Year. In Jamaica and Canada this Fall, they are also releasing a special Blender's Legacy rum, priced between the 12 Year and hard to find 21 Year.

I had absolutely no idea Pusser's came in two different types (official website has no indication). Thanks for the heads up! I really want to try Pusser's when I head to the US, as it is higher proof (95.5 compared to 84 in Canada), plus in Canada its overpriced at $42CDN.

Quite a few members have recommended this so far. Never heard of it or seen it available in Canada, perhaps one day I could track it down.

arrr matey. There's something unique about drinking rum that makes me feel like I'm at sea.

Also heard some good things about that one, rather odd since you don't see many good rums come out of anywhere other than the caribbean. I think I need to try a bottle as well hehe...

Thanks for the link back to an older thread. I never found that one so I started this one. Very good discussion and reading in that one.
Wow quite a few people drink Captain Morgan's Private Stock. It certainly has a fancy bottle, but I have been avoiding it since I already have a rather mainstream aged rum (Bacardi 8).
I think the next one I will try will be Havana Club 7 Anos. The fact that it's readily available in Canada and not in the US makes it seem like a sin almost to not try it when I have the opportunity.
Still wondering if anyone has been trying the Cachaca, or specifically Agua Luca. It's only available in some states, and not in Canada.
