5 grand? I'd rather use that to upgrade parts for the vehicle.

bone stock in my Jeep Wagoneer which is my main work vehicle.I usually have so much crap in the back that the rear speakers (mounted in the gate) are totally blocked.Same would happen if i tried to add a subwoofer.
At some point I intend to upgrade the front speakers and add some high mounted tweeters.
Also under consideration is a total electronics rebuild
-tube preamp/passive tone controls/mosfet amps-all DIY with a "vintage" AM/FM/Cassette front end plus inputs for a CD player.
A nice "summer" project
