Maybe somebody can help. Thinking of buying a DAC and both seem to be well regarded. Anybody compare the two and describe the differences? Or suggest which is the better of the two?

Even though I have never heard the Zhaolu, I have read impressions on the stock unit and the feedback is not all that great. I beleive the Valab will be quite a bit better, I have the Valab and it is very good especially at the price.

Well the Zhaolu isn't a NOS dac either so it will have to come down to taste sooner or later in any comparison between the 2. It will end up as a NOS sound vs upsampling/os sound so unless you know which you like better, its going to be hard
