any reason for me to get a zune 80 over an ipod classic 80?

Zune80 doesn't scratch, but the glass window does smudge (easy to wipe off). Not using plastic has eliminated scratches, unlike with my ZVM and daughter's iPod. No need for cases, covers etc., unless for convenience.

wow reading through this i just discovered rockbox... ive been looking for a break from the apple UI and wanted a new player, but ive always loved ipods (partly cause i use macs and its just plain hassle free) i may have to try this instead

now we have flash units with tens of gigs easy lol

not sure what you mean by lead in the 80s, they never had the lead they have right now. ipod market domination is something they would have only dreamed of in the 80s for their computers.
