any reason for me to get a zune 80 over an ipod classic 80?

Yes, there is a reason: You could just as easily get an iPod Classic 160

I hate to break it to you, but there is no such thing as an 80 gb ipod touch.

I'm pretty sure he touched on that in his post... like in the part where he said "But there is nothing near that capacity."

I would love an 80 gig iPod touch too... but not for the cost Apple would most likely want for it.

you know, the thing about both apple and ms is that they are dragging their feet....well, obviously.
they can produced better things but they want this stuff to make as much money first before they update the new tech they've got now.

but point is, in this apple vs microsoft debate is
both are dragging feet
but apple will always lead.

apple just came out with the freaken I-TOUCH and I-PHONE,
and MS just came out with a ipod clone.

by the time apple comes out with an HDD based touch,
MS will have come out with the their own flass based touch.

so bottom line.
UNLESS MS takes that step and is willing to TAKE THE LEAD
they'll always be following apple.

^^ Now THAT is a ridiculous comment.

dude, apple will not do a HDD based Touch. They all going all the way flash from 2008 and beyond.

BTW, I remember when Apple have a lead back in the 80s. Now, where is it ?

History will repeat like...ALWAYS!

Alright DUDE

thanks for shooting me down

so, when do you think MS is going to release a product ahead of apple? and if you say 5 five years from now, i say, my point exactly, ms is still behind, we are arguing the here and now, not history repeating. im not trying to write a thesis, just saying ms is still just following apple at the moment, and they probably intend to for a while, so, i give no props to them until they can beat apple to the punch on releasing new techology

A lead in what? Your memory is failing you I think.

iPod Classic and prior versions: GUI from Creative. Apple was late to patent the screen with menus and such like some call it.

iPod 1G: Creative, Rio and others mp3 players done before that.

iPhone: just GUI integration with touchscreen and iPod interface. Everything else done by Nokia, Motorola, Samsung and others and much better. Bluetooth, video recording anyone ?

iTouch: Same as iPhone, eveything else done by Cowon (SDHC expansion), Archos Wifi (greater capacity), etc.

GUI based OS.

Windows 3.x and later versions destroyed that lead.

the thing i wonder is how ms and zune has escaped the claws of the
riaa for song sharing even if its only for 3 days the people getting
the songs from the first party did not pay for their use.

microsoft pays universal for every zune they sell, so i think that helps keep them happy. they also structured their store however the record companies wanted (some purchased songs you can't share).

Share your own made songs by changing the genre to "Podcast".

Well, I think one cool thing the zune did is allowing the 1st gen zune to get almost all the same features as the 2nd gen zune with firmware updates. With the ipod you gotta buy a new one each time they come out with one.
