Any news on the Questyle CMA Twelve?

The twelve has the same digital input section as 400i for optical and the same USB receiver chip.
Do u get the same issue with USB also?
If yes, have u tried with a phone using OTG

I actually switched to optical from USB because I was getting a lot of hissing noises most probably due to a group look issue that has since been resolved by going for an optical connection instead.

Would an ifi-audio micro iusb3.0 make sense since I am having issues with USB? I don't recall having popping issues with USB so if that device can clean up my USB then I should be good to go right?

The usb port is galvanically isolated.
But all analog and toslinks are ground linked. Do you have multible inputs connected?
Groundloop current can run between those and get the dac out of clocksync.

How do you know it's galvanically isolated?

I only have either USB or Toslink connected but since the optical connection is all plastic I don't know how that could be an issue.

I thought i red it somewhere.. Ok i did some measuring in my unit and must say it has only galvanic RF filtering. RX TX signals go straight into the USB receiver chip.
But earthing is connected to chassis only so this can't give groundloops to eg your PC's chassis.
What kind of hiss do you get on USB
Is it audible with things turned on with no music playing?
And have u tried with a different source like a phone?

Oh just another thing to try.
Ive recently exchanged my USB cable with one with a ferrite and noticed my 400i doesnt intermittend indicate unlock anymore. I hadnt have dropouts or hiss but maybe it works for you.

Hello together,

has anyone ever tried to connect another DAC to the 12?
If so, which one can be recommended? How was it connected then?

And was there a difference in sound?

Or I'm on the wrong train and you can't connect a DAC to the 12?

I don't think the issue is that you can't, but there would be no point. As I understand it (I don't have the 12) it only has digital inputs therefore you would input a digital signal which would then get processed by the 12's DAC.
