Any love for the Activo CT10?

Thanks heaps @Greave - I just came to the same conclusion after many hours searching.

Most of the APKPure downloads are APKX and won't install without an APKX installer. I tried using an APKX installer (which installed!) but didn't work as documented at Moon Audio.

In the end the versions that are available and work were from https://mobile.softpedia.com/apk/tidal/

I downloaded every version from 2.20.0 to 2.39.0 and copied them across. Came to the same conclusion as the answer you've provided. 2.31.0 and earlier versions all show up in the list 👏

@JasonNYC what does it take to get the newer versions allowed? 2.33.6 introduced an option for use HiFi Tidal subscribers to now choose to play Artist and Track Radio in MQA.

This doesn't work, it writes error (attached picture) - problem parsing the package. I downloaded xapk file (newest version, older...) and I see it in Installer but than an error appears. That is very dissapointing!

Just to note I followed these exact steps @JasonNYC and the XAPK installer installed fine.
However it was unable to unpack any of the XAPK available on apkpure.com for Tidal.
I tried every version listed on APKPure.com and used the armeabi-v7a versions of XAPKs as you've previously noted.

Even TIDAL version 2.31.0 which I got working using an APK only (as noted below) would not extract and install from the XAPK.

It always threw an error and locked up the XAPK installer with this specific error. After each time the CT10 had to be powered down and back on to get back out of it. Exactly as @Greave also noted above.

My other post detailing using the APKs from Softpedia solved this.

TIDAL version 2.31.0 that is the most recent working APK I could get running is 6 months old now.

TIDAL version 2.33.6 introduced an option for use HiFi Tidal subscribers to now choose to play Artist and Track Radio in MQA.
TIDAL version 2.39.0 released on 2021-03-23 is the latest as of now and is 11 releases beyond where the CT10 allows with OpenApp.
Newer versions fix more bugs :)

Actually what I have observed is tidal apk with minimum support for Android 5 (API 21) can be installed in Activo. Tidal 2.31 is the last version with minimum Android 5 support and as such gets installed. From Tidal version 2.32 the minimum support is for Android 6 (API 23) and Activo doesn't support that.
So practically with the current firmware (probably 1.20) Tidal 2.31 is the latest supported one. May be with future firmware updates (if any) for Activo, Tidal apks of higher version can be installed.
A&K Can you say if we get any more future updates for Activo ?

Hi everyone, only recently got my hands on a CT10 after auditioning a number of units and being very disappointed with them (especially how they handle large music libraries).

Anyway, the CT10 shows promise, mainly due to it sounding pretty good out of the box, but I am having zero luck getting Spotify or Apple Music apps to install. I follow the instructions by downloading the APK files from the APKPure.com website and then drop them into the OpenService folder, but two things happen.

First, Apple Music shows up and I click and install it. Everything good until I launch the app, accept the T&C's and then I get the message saying 'Apple Music has stopped'.

Spotify does not even show up in the list to install.

Any ideas?

The default TIDAL in Activo is not working. It gives an error screen saying "Invalid Token". I have received an email from my seller which says that A&K are already at work . The email content goes as under.

There is an issue on Tidal's end that is affecting not only AK, but other manufacturers' devices also. Currently there is no ETA from Tidal on when there will be a fix. The one month is a best guess at the moment, but hoping for a fix a lot sooner.

Hi all,

I recently bought this DAP. I'm unable to use Tidal or Spotify even after trying all kinds of APK files from apkpure.com. I have been able to somehow login to Apple Music, but before I go and plonk my money on a new Apple Music subscription, I wanted to hear from fellow users of Activo CT10, who might be using Apple Music on this device.

Anyone would like to share their experience?

I have and love my little CT10, it's incredibly good for its size and price. Am tempted to upgrade to the A&K SR25 however, mainly based on the significantly improved battery life, the ability to drive slightly hungrier headphones and a bigger form factor - basically Tidal and Spotify are almost unusable for me on the CT10 because typing is nigh on impossible.

I suspect I'm not alone in pondering this - has anyone else made the switch (or decided against), or sampled both players? Is there going to be any significant SQ improvement?

Quick update on firmware update to fix the embedded Tidal app.

Still on target for this month, but I still do not have a concrete release date. I was told last night there would be more info at the end of the week.

The following 13 models will receive firmware updates to fix the embedded Tidal issue in May:

SP2000, SP1000, SP1000M, SE200, SE180, SE100, KANN ALPHA, SR25, SA700, KANN CUBE, SR15, ACTIVO CT15, ACTIVO CT10.

The AK Connect app for iOS and Android will also be updated to fix the embedded Tidal issue. The updated apps will be available in the Apple and Google app stores after the player updates.
