What about the internet? I got all my stuff off the internet without trying it previously. I guess that's a little risky but with advice from members of Head-Fi and ABI I haven't regretted any of my purchases.

That is probably what I will have to do. I just don't understand how there can't be a HiFi shop in the Northern VA area.

Wow that's a shame, I haven't checked to see if there are any good hifi shops around here but I've heard there are a few. I wouldn't mind driving a bit to go to a meet either.

I found one dealer that sells Grados but he is about 50 miles outward from civilization (Winchester).

Over the year and half I've been on Head-Fi, we've had 3 meets in DC/VA/MD that I know about. I'm no mathematician, but I think that means we've been meeting every 6 months on average.

  I'm in for this one too. Aman would probably show up, and Steve too.
