I'd like to see something based on the qualia 010. Sadly, this does not seem to be a priority!

Yes, I too would like to see something based on the Qualia 010. I still think the Qualia is the most cutting-edge looking headphone. A true iconoclast. Never heard them though.

Sadly, I don't think from a business perspective Sony can see sense in investing in a new flagship headphone. Unfortunately, high-end audio isn't able to contribute enough to the bottom line to warrant the R&D costs, etc. I'd like this to be false though.

Yeah, it would be nice to have new High-End headphone from Sony. Something succeeding the Qualia 010 and/or the MDR-R10...
Sadly it don't seem like Sony prioritize mid-fi and not High-End headphones these day. Which is no surprise, since most of the other vendors do the exact same. Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, AKG and Grado to name a few.

That´s like hoping for an improved AKG K1000 to show up, like some people have hinted at, in some threads lately.
