Of the ones listed so far I think the better ones are:

Samurai Champloo
Sword of the Stranger
Ninja Scroll
Samurai 7

Hakkenden is a bit unique. May not be for everyone.

Wow, your lists are impressive, and thanks for those recommendations from the last page!

In addition, it's probably a given, but Fate/stay night is of the fighting/swords genre, and I'm giving it a definite thumbs up. Just finished it a few minutes ago. I won't spoil it for anyone out there by giving details (because I personally hate it when someone recommends an anime and gives away too much, especially endings!), but it is definitely a good watch.

If you consider boxing as a martial art, I would recommend Hajime no Ippo either in anime or manga format since they're both good and have lots of action.

Speaking of boxing.
I haven't got around to seeing it but  Ash ita no Joe. A space is put between ash ita.
The most referenced anime/manga inside other anime/manga.
Started being done.
A very very famous Boxing anime in Japan.

I came across this the other day this is a very funny anime I seen years ago.
When Central Park Media started bringing it out they called it
Japan's Beavis and Butthead/South Park

Very unknown series.
Anime TV doesn't allow some of the stuff this series does anymore.

Ping Pong Club

I just mentioned it but this has a Ash ita No Joe reference 2:00 into it.
The character even has his style of hair.

The original Mobile Suit Gundam the one that started it all.
The 1979 TV Series cut into 3 movies
Sunrise themselves put this up.
Tomino's stuff is really classic every time I watch them I like it more and more.
Video quality is pretty good for youtube

Just finished watching Chobits. I never took so long to watch a single anime that wasn't airing; 5 weeks, for a 23 episode anime.
I should watch more, but a combination of research on the Beta22, my new blog, playing Garry's mod and increased school workload makes it difficult.

I don't know whether I want to watch Welcome to the NHK or Angel Beats as my next.
My heart says I should watch NHK, but I won't do that if it's another of those boring comedies. I'm fine with a little humor in their, but in some cases (e.g. the beginning of Chobits) they overdo it.
Maybe I should clarify what I especially dislike: I hate it when some character over reacts to everything, it just makes me cringe.

Oh, and overall Chobits was pretty good. Although they could have started earlier with the nice ending, as 18/23 episodes were quite boring.

Just finished watching Berserk. I do not know what to think of the end. Is it good, bad or is there any deeper meaning of it. To me it is like this Guts (main protagonist) has the peak of pain in the very end of the series. Is it just? In some ethical theories one could call it just that this man, who causes death and pain to other people cannot be allowed to be happy.

I wouldn't put too much thought into it.
The Anime just ended and the manga goes go.
I think it ended at vol 13 or somewhere around there the manga has gone on for 23 more volumes so far.
Even in those first 13 some parts are taken out.
So basically there is a lot more to Berserk if you want to look into it.

Haven't read any of 20th Century Boys yet?
I was expecting you to say something....

I started one Kyou Kara Ore Wa actually. I have read two volumes now, but honestly I think I'm going to drop it.
It's just so boring and predictable, almost like watching a kids show in my opinion.

I will start reading 20th century boys on Friday, as I'll have three hours of free time then.

Are all manga very long by the way? I initially never expected that most manga are about 22 volumes.

Well 20th Century Boys is really 24 volumes. 20th is 22. Then the final 2 volumes is called 21st Century Boys.

Seinen manga like 20th CB can be short sometimes a lot of them are around 5-20 volumes sometimes a little longer.
Not too many run very long though.

Shonen Manga is usually 20-40 volumes long sometimes they are shorter like 5-10 volumes.
But some run much longer than that.

Shojo and Josei manga I haven't read too many or followed many but they are short to somewhat long.
But very few ever run as long as a Shonen manga will.

Dat scarlet ammo

But the show couldn't crack me up as much as a certain other one with idiots, tests, and inquisitions.
