Hey boys and girls :p
Since Sep 07' I have no anti-virus, recently I felt some bad performances.
What anti virus should I install?
Must work on Vista Ultimate 32bit!
Thanks

Personally, I prefer running AVG and Avira on different schedules on my computer and occasionally running House-call on TrendMicro every now and then to see if it catches something the other two didn't.

avast is pretty solid and it's free if that's a factor. (the home version.. not professional since that version isn't free)

if you were looking for something more heavyweight check out norton. it's got a bad rep for being super slow, but 08 and the upcoming 09 versions are now leading the pack in terms of performance. plus security is still top notch

The problem with Kaspersky is it's very heavy. I had it once, but uninstalled it because it made my computer unusable during scans.
I have now a P4 3GHz with 1.5GB with Vista so it'll probably be a nightmare.
I think I'll check out NOD32...

The best antivirus programs are: Kaspersky, NOD32, Trendmicro, McAfee enterprise edition.

And yeah don't expect NOD32 to consume less system resources than Kaspersky. If you want something that does not use a lot of resources for scanning you should try the McAfee Enterprise or the newest offerings from Trendmicro.

I've used nod32 during a full scan, I could still use the internet and watch videos and stuff. Course, it's probably better just to run the scan when you're not using it.

I use Kaspersky anti-virus. I usually walk away when I run a scan. Sometimes I do wonder if it is worth having anti-virus software installed because I haven't had anything detected since last year.
