Super Discounts on PentaTone Classics - February 2009 | ArkivMusic

My wallet is still recovering from a recent hit, courtesy of Berkshire Record Outlet, but I think I am going to grab the two Berlioz recordings.

Nice find! I'm sure there are some real gems in there. For the occasional classic listener, can you (or others) recommend any of them in particular? One's that you have heard yourself or know of by reputation in terms of the performance? The 2 Mahler discs look interesting.

may be, I am not a big fan of Haitink (nor of Mahler to be honest) but I am sure someone has posted about these recordings in the mega-thread dedicated to Mahler.
As I said, I think the two Berlioz are worth buying
Berlioz: Requiem "Grande Messe Des Morts" / Davis, Dowd | ArkivMusic
Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique / Royal Concertgebouw | ArkivMusic
and the second should please even "the occasional classic listener"

Other disks I was tempted by were these two classics
Beethoven, Bruch: Violin Concertos / Grumiaux, Et Al | ArkivMusic
Brahms: Piano Quartets Op 25, 26, 60 / Beaux Arts Trio | ArkivMusic

and, a bit off the left field, this one
Giuliani, Rodrigo: Guitar Concertos / P. & A. Romero, Et Al | ArkivMusic

Ok deal depending on which ones you are interested in I guess.

I see some random stuff I can identify but mostly vague for me, not that much into classical, but I am tempted to randomly grab a few just cos!
