One fear I have about using the search key is finding out everything ever written about a topic, but nothing new, cause a new guy didn't ask and another new guy with the actual cans didn't answer.

Well maybe "never" was a bit harsh... but it sure makes it harder to find a useful thread when searching. I'd say most people are going to be somewhat lazy when searching. It's the google way... if you're not on the first page chances are you'll never be found.

Everyone goes though this initial grace period of newbness, especially those who are new to message boards. And once the newbs evolve into LEET headphone guru's they too can toss out the "use the search" posts that were once directed towards them. It’s a vicious cycle.
