new to the forum and this digital world of music. I would like to add a dac/amp to my HP Slimline with Tidal as my source and take advantage of MQA. Will be using coaxial out . I need a dac that renders MQA and is affordable. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I do not have a USB out on the HP as it is too old.

thank you for your reply. I am finding out that MQA can not be rendered thru coaxial spdif inputs or that there aren't products with that capability. Looks like I will have to upgrade my computer to modern times

A cheap laptop or mini PC is more than good enough for streaming. I use a Lenovo 710q tiny but there are a lot of choices.

Don't need even a mini PC/laptop. Even a cheap Android TV + USB Audio Player Pro will do the job (streaming).

I am planning to run thru my stereo amp and I use my tv as my monitor for the computer and have the ability for both headphone and stereo set up. Waiting for my Grados and I have a pretty good setup for speakers. I thank you again for your time.

Sure, good luck with it. I think the SMSL 500 has a lot of fans and a long thread here as well.
