I've been looking at the Corda Prehead amp, and I'm looking to spend about $1000 give or take a $100 (another $1500 is going for the AKG K1000/Audio Valve RKV combo

. I'm just looking for some opinions. I've been eyeing some Creek products, as well as a Grace 901 (even though its out of budget) as well as the Headroom Cosmic. PLease post your thoughts or any other recomendations. Thanks!

I've never heard the 880 and I've never heard the 600 with one, but at 770, I would think that there's no way you could go wrong with the Prehead:

It will destroy the Cosmic for sure, and IIRC, Kelly prefers it over the Max.

I'm very pleased with the sound of both my HA-2 (probably very similar sound as PreHead) and my EMP with the DT 880. Balancewise the HA-2 has a slight edge, but the EMP sometimes has slightly more charm and better focussed treble.

Both amps also suit the HD 600 very well.

why do you need another amp except the RKV?
i bet it sounds killer on the beyers and senns..
but you can't go wrong with the prehead if you want SS i guess...

Check out the Singlepower Audio MPX3. I've used it with both the Beyers and the HD600's and it sounds great with both.

There is a singlepower Supra/SDS in the gear for sale forum. I've used the HD600 and the Beyers also with the singlepower SDS amp and both were the best I've heard them.
