Hi,

I can get an amplifier from a friend, a pretty old Markantz 1050 analoge:

I know it's very old, but I only need it to amplify my headphone.

Questions:

1. Will it make the sound worse? (The sound comes from a soundcard, Xbox

2. What price should I pay for this thing (the maximum price

) ?

Thanks in advance

Hmmz, why? And what price would you pay for it? Because now he says that I can buy his amplifier with 2 speakersets...2 old ones and 2 pretty new ones..
The new ones:

Only the case is different. MC CRYPT 2-WEG is the name.

All this for 50 euro

Despite you may have to repair it, 30 euro is pretty cheap for such an amplifier. I believe the retail price on ebay is about 80 dollar now a days. So even if he want's to sell it for 40 or more it would be a good price.

30 Euros for a working old Marantz is a bargain, you can easily sell it on ebay for more if you grow out of it.
The old Marantzes 10XX and the receivers 22XX are generally decent mid-fi headphone amps in combination with high Z headphones.A combination with low impedance headphones is not that good.
The speakers are worth nothing, total crap.
