Amplifier: Fiio E9 Desktop Headphone Amplifier
DAC: Fiio E7 and Presonus Audiobox
Headphones: Beyerdynamic DT-990 600ohms
I'd like to add the Grado SR225i to my collection, I'm going to try to use them as DJ headphones. If that doesn't work, I will still enjoy using them for listening purposes. My question is: what would be an upgrade in terms of my amplifier/DAC for the DT-990s?
From what I've heard, the grado 225s wouldn't need an amp because they are 32 ohms. I assume I can still use the E9 amp with the grado's, but I'll have to make sure to switch to low impedence.
I also have a Traktor Kontrol S2, which has a built in sound card. But, I've had the DT990/E9 combo for the past 4 years so I think I'm finally ready to upgrade amps.
