Head-fiers,
I have a Schiit Bifrost, which I like a lot, and I have some Mr. Speakers Alpha Dogs on their way to me. I am considering a Schiit amp, but I'm having trouble choosing between the Asgard 2 and the Lyr.
The Shiit website specifically mentions the ADs under both amps among other, more difficult to drive orthos. But the AD have only 50ohms resistance; do you think I will miss the additional power if I go for the Asgard 2? I don't have a side in the solid-state vs. tube debate. I just want an amp that will bring out the potential of the ADs.
Any reasonably priced ($250-450) amp recommendations welcome as well, but mostly I'm wondering how much power I will really benefit from. Thank you!
