Personally, I'm a bit partial to tubes with RS-1's. In the $600-$700 price range, you can't go wrong with Mapletree Audio's EAR+ HD. Sure, it's a bit vintage looking, and I may be biased in my recommendation, but somehow Grado cans consistently synergize well with the unit.

I've had one of Whiplash Audio MMM's for about a week now and am really impressed with it, especially in light of the price. He should have some info up on his web page soon, I think.

I don't have the GS-1000's (I have a set on back-order...argh), but I have tried the MMM with my ED9's, HD-600's, HD-650's, AHD-2000's and my DT-990's. It sounded good with all of them and really sounds nice with the ED9's especially.

All in all, a very impressive amp for the price. Will it make me give up my Trafomatic or my GCPH? No. But, for $399 it's a contender, that's for sure.

My $.02.

Peace,

Lee

Disclaimer--I do help Craig at Whiplash Audio out with cryo and wire, however, I have nothing to do with his current amp offerings and receive no remuneration from him if one sells due to my recommendation.

Yes the GCHA was recommended before, but its freakin expensive! I can't find the more expensive miller's at that site. I'm not gonna DIY myself, I'm looking for a medium priced (for me that is high prized

How about this:

Soha-Jisbos

No relation to seller but I've read good things about a SOHA and Grados. Hopefully someone who knows more can comment.
