Howdy all! Looking for a good amp to power my 600ohm DT770s. I currently have a fiio e9 and they power my 250ohm DT880s fine, but when I use it with my 770s they sound very weak. Any suggestions on what to get? I will mainly use them with my desktop. I have a budget of about $200, maybe even $250, but of course, best bang for the buck.

I've used the Audiotrak imAmp with the Dt770's (250 ohm version) and it drives them good, if not satisfied you can change the opamps on it.

There are single tube headphone amplifiers sold on eBay that can drive 600-Ohm headphones.
Ships from China takes 10 days, prices start at around $60, better ones start at $80.
The Indeed G2s model would do the job.

Hey,

Have you compared the sound quality of your muse to more "advanced" amplifiers? It seems to be your main amp atm, is it really that good?

I have the Essence STX, Xonar DG, Fiio E11, Yamaha RX-V671 AV receiver, DAC Destroyer and the Muse EH6922 tube amp.
So this list above is everything I have to drive headphones (and compare each other to).
I do not recommend the little single tube amps because they sound better then other stuff.
It's because it's a really low cost way of driving 250-Ohm to 600-Ohm headphones.
(they do sound good for the cost)
I think they make a good "starter tube" for noobies.
