I've had those, they're pretty easy to drive. The Topping DX5 is on a big sale at Drop.com and will do a great job powering them. The $9 Apple USB 3.5MM adapter will also power them, you don't need to break the bank. The SMSL DL200 or C200 will make them sound great also.

Class A amps get warm/hot in general since it is always supplying 100% of its power at all times. It doesn't get anywhere near as hot as my Mjolnir 3 though, lol.

You mentioned that you already had a DAC on hand, so if you are okay with using that to pair with the new amplifier for now, then you should be okay. You just have to get cables to connect them.

"The best experience" depends on your subjective opinion. My ears are not your ears, so that would be for you to decide. That is why it is good to upgrade your amp first, and try it with your current DAC. If it sounds good to you as is then great, but if it seems like there is a little missing then you know it is time for a DAC upgrade. There is no way to know until you try it out yourself unfortunately.

I am a fan of Schiit Audio multibit DACs, and R2R DACs, but again it is a personal preference. My chain currently has a Bifrost 2/64 in it, but I will be due for an upgrade on my end next year (Yggdrasil MIB). I always upgrade my amp first, and then I go with a "better" (for me) DAC the following upgrade.
