Violectric V100 ~ Great German range of amps. V200 drives my Grados just fine.

10 ohm output impedance, solid build quality, high quality power supply in-built.

Very nice ~ well, in that case many might recommend that you go tube based.

Still, my vote is still with the Violectric V100.

Balanced XLR inputs too at the back in case you get a DAC like the DacMagic that
supports balanced operation.

its just strange, that many recommend tube and many recommend solid-state for ps1000.
i only know that grado wants lots of current.

i have balanced xlr out on my dac. (aes/ebu)

my dac is: Metronome Technologie C1A DAC
there is a very nice option here that i can choose between tube and solid circuit with a button at the back of the dac.

i'm still seaching a nice usb-to-coax or usb-to-aes/ebu converter.
i found styleaudio carat t2. but maybe i should buy something better for this setup.
i dunno yet.

I have the same problem over here ~ PC laptop with the Rega DAC, I'm redbook limited to 16/48 until
I can find a way to feed the DAC with a SPDIF signal from either a converter, a small Linux music server
or I could just give up and get a Macbook which has a digital out.

Musical Fidelity also make one :-
