OMG Its amazing. You'l get massive soundstage. Treble will increase slightly, and bass decrease slightly, but the sound becomes so open. Wow, the pictures tell it all really:

And what do the K1000 make you look like? :^)

So what pads did you use?

Haha its quite ridiculous. I'm using a very good EQ and am really reducing the output of the treble's etc. and balance them up with the bass which actually works rather well to my surprise. Its more like listening to some speakers now than to headphones, thats for sure, but still I'm able to listen to music without bothering the neigbours at all. I must say the bass level is satisfying now (this 'mod' is really only usable with a good EQ!), but you do miss bass-impact. Its a fun experiment, thats for sure!

If there is anyone there that is as moronic as me and wants to try this as well, here is a eq I made with the basic free foobar eq:

PM me if you want the actual foobar eq file. Lol everybody should try this. I was just listening to: "Borat Soundtrack - 16 - Mahalageasca (Bucovina Dub)", and it sounded like I was there lol. Placement is really important, you have to keep them 'unfolded', put them on your ears, and push them as far back as you can, they will slide back forward to the ideal position. I'm still working on the eq but its really to start quite nice haha!

Anyone want to try that with KSC75s? I'm too lazy to get mine to try.

Wait, you can DECREASE the bass on the EW9?!

Well without eq, you'l get fired away by the piercing highs. Also as you can see I cut a little lowbass on the eq, this is to avoid 'bass rumble' from the drivers not being able to poduce lows with that amplitude. Lol it really works, try it hahaha!

I let my wife borrow my EW9's once, a few minutes later she said "these don't sound good", I glanced over and they were barely hanging onto her ears. Maybe I should try your EQ settings next time.
