Fanboism often leads to disapointment and empty wallets... I suggest to unfanboy yourself

On a side-note, any other cheap sound cards out there? does the uDac really sound that good compared to a sound card?

You could try the X-FI Elite Pro, Asus Xonar, Auzentech Prelude, and the HT Omega Claro, Lynx AES16e (if you really want to splurge). You could get a few good deals for your price range on Ebay for all of these.

Yeah I'm thinking about returning my DT880s and AD700s so I can get a monitor and then just get an AD700 with a mic mod.

I have fond memories of Nvidia and Intel. I remember winning the prototype Intel D chips in CAL-I and being given free cards at CPL and Dream Hack.

I look into these sound cards too.... is there some kind of sound card chart?

Haha it's probably that's they one way they can top intel/nvidia. I don't know actually because sound is one of our more subjective senses.

I *think* most ATI come with HDMI audio built in on their video cards, whereas most nvidia video cards have a feed-through that still relies on audio from mobo or sound card.
