hi I'm new to this site. i have a high end sound card, receiver and speakers. but i want to ask a question. i download my songs MP3. after that i save them as FLAC using dfx's enhancement settings (high fidelity, ambience, dynamic range and bass). And it really sound much better than the original lossy file. but am i considered an audiophile using this method.

Why do you care what others think? You are an audiophile if the sound quality is important to you. Looks like it is, and you're making some efforts to improve it, although IMHO it's not the right way. But then again - if it works for you, it's all that matters. Music is made for our enjoyment and if something makes it more pleasing to you, don't let anyone spoil it for you.
