Altec Lansing IM716 $44.99 at JR.com

I ordered a pair for my brother, then decided to get one for myself, but they're no longer listed. Going to the Google cache and adding the item gets you a "restricted item" page.

Can anyone give me their opinion of these vs the ER4Ps? I'd like to get a set of earphones this week, and the IM716s are $75-100 plus $20-30 shipping for me, vs. $159 total if I tack the the ER4Ps on to a B&H order.

Go ER4P and don't look back.

(I haven't tried my im716 yet but I loooove the ER4. I only made the switch because I was short on cash but I have a feeling I'll own another ER4 before long.)

My view is the 716s sound great if amped, and the ER4Ps are not worth an added $50 (I owned the Etys and sold them). The 716s are not as dry/neutral, a little more warmth/bass. Again, that is if you are going to use an amp. I also am going to send my 716s away soon, to have the pod removed and some 47-ohm resistors added (which some hereabouts say improved the sound to near-perfection). Of course, I got mine for $50. If buy.com or J&R put them back on sale, a no-brainer.

Woot! I receive mine today. Order on the Dec 11. Paid $6 shipping only. It cost them $17.30 to ship according to the stamp. That mean in reality they only got $34 for the phones and $17 for shipping that a steal for Canadians, it still selling for $140 here not including shipping.

The deal is dead now they no longer have any im716 on their website.
