It's late and I'm too lazy to do a damn search!

Any owners care to fill me in on the ALO modded K701s, before I pull the trigger? (geez, and I didn't even pick up my ALO780s yet!)..

Well, idk about what they sound like, but you better hurry up; one of them ALO K701 things just appeared on the F/S threads!

Maybe I should just say: I hope your amp and source are good.

Other than that, jazz, drums and guitar never sounded so good. They are very detailed, especially in the top-end with a very wide sound stage. If you're coming from something lower down, like 770's or 601's, they might come across initially as being rather bright, as they did with me after listening to a bunch of different cans. I got the impression that the base didn't make its presence fully felt until after some hours of burn-in, then got some wonderful surprises, especially on anything with a lot of drums.

Budget-permitting, in the future if I went balanced, they'd be my first choice for balanced HP's (custom ordered), if I didn't end up buying a pair of Stax or something else exotic, like a second-hand pair of K1000's.
