Allariz (Spain) Mini-Meet Impressions - Saturday September 20th (2008) - 5th Galicia Area Meet
Sep 28, 2008 at 11:12 PM Post #16 of 27
You guys (and girl) always have such awesome meets.

We really need a Head-Fi International meet in Spain! Or, you folks could try to organize, at the very least, a European meet. Although I'm sure if you got enough support, that plenty of us from North America would also make the trek.

!Muchas gracias para las fotos magnificas!

I want some VINO NOW!

What a beautiful place, it just bogles the mind to eat at a restaurant in an 800 year building. Being of the new world the oldest I have been at was a 400 year old convent converted to a hotel/restaurant.

The restaurant was an old leather factory from the XVII century.

Well, Carlos, you and the rest of our Head-Fi Sister City contingent obviously had another spectacular meet in beautiful surroundings, and I wasn't even aware of it for over a month after the fact! Sorry for not noticing in a more timely fashion.

As always the photos are very nice, and the photo blog was fun.
Your group's gear selection seems to grow each meet.

What is the story behind the PS225? Did somebody actually mill different ear cups -- they look pretty deep -- or just polish them to look like PS-1s? They look great regardless.

As JP said, you always have a wonderful balance in your get-togethers, and I hope our small meet in Marin County tomorrow will have a little flair as well. Less haute cuisine, but certainly good times and good companions. I do hope that one day soon there will be a more thorough mingling of our groups whether you folks come here first or we head there. Keep CanJam 2009 in Los Angeles in mind, won't you? Otherwise, we will have to work on it to make something happen by 2010.

Adiós!

In fact this is our fault. We didn't publish an announcement with enough time. And as you see, the impressions thread is a little bit, eh... limited. These past months we have been more focused in Auriculares.org. Next time we will do better

Yes, and this is what makes the meets more interesting - aside lunches and dinners
wink.gif
. We are all learning a lot about this hobby.

In my case I was finally able of finding a good pair of PS1s. I'm completely in love with these cans, they are truly wonderful. Mmmm... Now I remember that it was probably my conversation with you what decided me to buy these headphones. So thank you for your comments about them
smily_headphones1.gif
. I think you mentioned you recabled your pair. Do you have any recommendation?

The photo blog was a really easy thing to do with an iPhone, and I hope more people will do it in head-fi in the future.

Yes, they have new cups, completely machined in aluminium. Maybe Picodeloro will publish more about them in Head-Fi, when he finish this mod. They are truly wonderful, a huge leap forward for SR225 and probably grados in general. I say huge and I mean it
wink_face.gif
. You can see more about the process in Aluminio vs. madera

It certainly would be nice. I'm sure we will do something sooner or later

They look great. Look forward to more pics. Is this some special alloy or is it straight up aluminum? I wonder if an enclosure could be done out of Ti that would be lighter....
