Just a quick note to recommend an album I don't see mentioned often here... I am listening to it right now and am just remembering how nice it sounds. Great sound engineering.

This Mortal Coil - "Blood"

I wasn't so crazy about the music, but I liked the way it sounds. (I call this the Dave-Matthews-Band syndrome, but you might call it other things)

I got used to it tho, nice dark melodies, almost haunting. And great sound.

Check out tracks 2 and 6 in particular with your favourite cans for pure bliss vocal detail.

The new album Wiser by Halou has some pretty fine vocals on them, but I haven't listened to Blood since...like, the 1980's...

Take a listen to

The Lipstick Conspiracies - Thea Gilmore
NAIM RECORDS NAIMCD046

Now there is an album that you could you use as a reference. Good vocals and thoughtful lyrics. Excellently recorded as all cd's from Naim.

Sounds a little like Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders

Hehe, I was just giving you a hard time, Dusty. I tend to blend the late 80s/early 90s myself
