I use PC to appreciate music and my headphone is AKG Q701. But most time I find my PC sroundcard can't drive it well. SO. I want buy items to increase Q701 performance.
How about NuForce Icon HDP or Schiit?

I would search around the forum and see what you can gather about the NuForce unit, and make the decision for yourself. I don't own one, so I can't really help out with that one. But, with regards to Schiit, I think they're great. I have an Asgard, and I couldn't be happier. However, I have heard that certain AKG cans prefer the Valhalla or Lyr, since apparently they like more power. I don't have those cans or amps so I can't speak for them. But I can recommend the Asgard and certainly Schiit as a company. Anyway, just my opinions. Good luck finding your amp.

You need to first give us a price range, type of music you listen to(and give examples of artists), and what you need it for. Like a desktop unit(like Schiit) or a portable unit that can also serve as a desktop one(like E17) if you need a DAC with that as well, features you would like. Etc

Are you just playing music? watching movies" gaming?
Do you have a budget for this upgrade?

I'm getting this headphone myself together with a Matrix M-Stage.
The M-Stage is about 260 dollars and it is very well known as one of the best amps to use with the Q701 in its price range
