AKG K701 vs. K702, how much do these headphones really differ.

They sound exactly the same my friend. I find the K702 is a bit more versatile because you can swap cables.

There is zero difference in the soundstage on them.

I was thinking about the K702, but I heard a few people can notice a slight difference between them on the sound stage. I for one am not an audiophile guru so I think I'll stick with the 02.

I personally got K702 because I can easily change a cable later on. My K702's stock cable is about to die (I believe) so I am actually glad that I got K702 instead of K701.
If you are planning to keep K70x for few years then I would recommend you to get K702 so you can get a cable easily.

Slightly more bass and slightly less treble. It's not like everyone is making it out to be. I've owned all three and the Q701 is only slightly different in the bass and treble.

i read the q701 has more bass than the k701 and 702 and is less harsh on the treble

i read that if you listen closely, their soundstage and imaging are about the same, like Zombie_X said, most people claimed the only difference is slightly more bass and slightly less treble, and a lot of people claimed the q701 was an improvement compared to the k701. i never owned them, just read about them.
