So I've had my beloved k501's for a while now, and I love every moment listening to them.

But now there is a problem. The sound cuts out on the right and "pinching" the cable just above the plug or moving the plastic casing around the jackplug seems to fix the problem, but only for a little while

Is there any way of permanently fixing this? Do I need a recable (and would anyone be willing to do it?) This happen to anyone else?

thnx in advance

okay, so it needs a re-termination.

I'm kinda scared to do it.....how do i approach this?

you can do a complete recable...fairly easy since the drivers are easy to access. here's a thread on recabling the k501: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f6/rec...1-pics-295031/

if you know how to do some simple soldering, it's a pretty easy job. if not, i'd recommend sending it to fitz since he's probably taken apart every akg out there
