I was just about to post this.  I'm gonna check them out, I was very happy with my K450.  Gonna pick up a pair for my girlfriend to use while at the library, I can't stand her using those crappy no-name earbuds, haha.

Ehh it seems the prices for AKG's portables fluctuate a lot.
 
But anyways tdock, it doesn't seem like there are any reviews of the k430 up.  I'm kind of wary of AKG's portables because I've read many mixed reviews of them.  Who knows what these sound like.

Ordered! I wanted to try them before. Hard to go wrong at that price! I had researched the 420/430/450 before and the signatures seem to differ esp. in bass amount. These are ones that appeal to me.

Being in Canada, Musician Friend wanted to rape me on shipping (more than the cost of the headphone LOL). So I have worked out an arrangement with a kindly US patron to get a pair of of these. The good news is they will have a chance to review them before I get them plus I'll do my own review. So expect to see some reviews of these soon.

I found that most reviews are limited. Some say the bass is too much and bleeds but the ones that seem to have run them in say that they have the AKG mids and treble that is a step up from the crowd(aka PX100/Portapro/K420/KDJ81 etc.)
 
I was not positive and wouldn't bite at the normal price. This is a safe bet as you can sell them and get your money back. The only ones I saw at the time under $60 were from Hong Kong possible fakes. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few flipped for $60.

Was tempted, then I realize I got FC700A and SQ5, both of which I like (along with my esw9).  Enough portable cans for me.  Need to save up for either iem or full size!

Im guessing the 430 is there neutral portable headphone, which is good for me because I need to try some neutral sounding headphones before I commit to a full-size.

These constant 'deals' will add up eventually. If I buy this then I've spent $100 on 'deals' that could have gone to a higher end headphone.
I HAVE a PX100ii, why do I need more?
