Hey Bobby,

You should have asked me on gmp3

here's what you're looking for, Dub on HCFR asked AKG :

Quote:

many thanks for contacting AKG. …/… Please kindly find enclosed our K340 service manual fyi.

The part no. of the earpads is 2058Z1001 and the part no. for the headphone cable is 2376K0001. Both are available at the moment.

Regarding the flat foam piece, I think you mean the grille (pos. 6 in our service manual)?! The part no. of this item is 2140Z1101. But only a few are availble. Please kindly contact me if my suggestion was wrong.

For order and price information, we kindly ask you to contact our distributor in France:

HARMAN FRANCE (Consumer)

ZA Parc Terminal
9 rue St Just
93135 Noisy Le Sec
Harman International

Stahloyan@Harman.com

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

They only orig. came with what we generally call "Pleather" (Vinyl) earpads and you've probably already seen there is only one stock # for the earpads. What people end up using for velour k340 earpads is substituting the velour pads made/stocked for k240s and k271s. It is a tight fit that you'll have to play with them to get them on......with some care because if you mishandle them (the pads) the backing sometimes splits and you'll end up having to replace it.......so don't get too manly when putting them on.

edit: sometimes I wonder about taking a file to remove a little bit of the flared edge from the cup to aid in fitting the earpads - but cannot vouch for that idea as I never got around to acting on that impulse.

If it weren't for the those terribly scratchy pleather pads, I'd still have the k340. It be interesting to find out if there is another option out there that is widely available.

There is 2 problems :

First : The leather is less comfortable than velour.

Second : My ears touch the grill because the leather is not enough thick :'(

The only place I know is from AKG. You must attack with emails, phone calls and faxes, and eventually you'll get them.

They are AKG part # 2955Z2601 and can be bought for around $13 each (don't remember exactly).

EDIT: oops, sorry. I missed that you were in France, but the part number should be the same.

I eventually got the velour pads from him. It is a little difficult to do.

Furthermore, the pads are next to impossible to get on to the K340. Once they're on though, they've been really comfy, so I'm keeping them.
