Meanwhile in europe it still continues to sell for ~230 EUR ($300 USD), this large & popular european etailer for any sound related stuff which is usually fairly cheap sells it for as much as 245 EUR ($320)!! http://www.thomann.de/fi/akg_k167_tisto.htm >_<

For comparisions sake, let's look at for example Sony MDR-1R http://www.thomann.de/fi/sony_mdr_1rb.htm - 205 EUR ($265), that's fine concidering there's like 21% VAT included in that price, in US it goes for around $250 typically. What's up with AKG's european pricing!? Seems like they are doing the same what Beats did in US, exploit a really well known celebrity name around in europe to jack up the price.

Thats so stupid. I'm wondering if the price will ever drop here in the EU.

It's a different situation in Korea.  K167 is still priced roughly $245 to $300.  Mostly for the price they originally stamped.  They usually keep the price as is, no matter how long it stays in the cabinet.
I'm fighting the urge and still waiting for K267.  It being less isolating than K167 doesn't practically mean the isolation is bad.  It's a good thing (or a bad thing) that I got turned off by K550 due to it being impractical for walking around the streets.

The K167 isolates much better than the K267, but as people mention, the build quality is what you pay for in the K267.

How/where were you able to try out the K267?  Are the cups larger than the K167?  Is that the reason for the difference in isolation?  If the K267 fits as poorly as the K550 due, in part, to oversized cups, that will be a dealbreaker for me.

I ALMOST pulled the trigger on a pair of K167, but I will wait for more feedback, mainly from this thread (thanks miow for creating it and updating the first post).

I really think in the next 3-6 months the price will drop to around $110sh, which would be very affordable, specially if a second version will be out which fixes those tacky hinges.

The K167 offers better isolation from what I read so far here vs the K267, the K267 is potentially a better build quality but its also more expensive. So at this point neither is a winner.

Build qualify aside, for $150 or less, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better phone. At least for me. I hope I don't have build issues, but so far so good and I'm not super gentle with them, albeit not rough either. I love these things. The detail and isolation, the lower bass impact...with a little amp assistance or EQ, the mid bass can pack a punch. No homer here, just a fan of these. Wish I could throw them around some, but not worth the risk. Comfort is great for me so far as well. I hadn't worn them for longer than three hours at a time yet, but a 2 second pull off and then back on and I'm good to go.

Just bought these, would people appreciate a comparison to my DT880's and TF10's?

B&H gave me the new lower price :)

Gonna burn them in a bit overnight, test them and give my impressions.
